While we are looking to hire someone full-time we are very open to hiring a college student part-time with the plan to be they would join us full time over summer break and upon graduation. We've got a great facility and an excellent location in a family-friendly community. The person God sends our direction will find the staff and elders to be very supportive and encouraging! Below is the job description for the full-time position.
Principle Accountabilities and Essential Duties of the Job
Ministry Responsibilities
- Serve as Ministry Council leader for Children & Youth Ministry working with and coordinating ministry with other areas of ministry represented in the Ministry Council
- Recruit, oversee and provide necessary training for all volunteers working with you in Elevate’s Children & Youth Ministry for children birth through 12th Grade including Sunday School and Children’s Church.
- Develop, participate in and provide oversight and leadership of weekly youth group meetings for 6th-12th grades.
- Plan and oversee special activities/events for children birth-5th grade.
- Provide oversight and monitor all curricula used for birth through 12th grade.
- Prepare and deliver Bible based lessons and devotions as needed for children’s Sunday School classes, youth groups, VBS and other special events.
- Encourage members and attendees, especially those children of camp age, to attend appropriate church camp sessions at Bond Christian Service Camp and/or serve on the faculty.
- Create and maintain an informational database on children and youth birth through 12th grade involved and/or interested in Elevate.
- Make and coordinate personal evangelistic and pastoral visits on children and youth birth through 12th grade as needed/appropriate (examples: VBS follow up visits, hospital calls, etc.)
- In coordination with the Lead Minister and/or Ministry Council investigate, develop and implement ministries, small groups and/or special events which minister to children and/or their families.
- In coordination with the Lead Minister and/or Ministry Council investigate, develop and implement outreach events such as Upwards Sports camps for children and youth.
Leadership, Administration & Accountability
- Reports to the Lead Minister for the week to week functioning and fulfilling of job responsibilities and will be ultimately held accountable to the elders.
- Provide a written monthly report for elder meetings. The individual may attend and stay for the entire meeting at the elders’ discretion.
- Attend planned weekly staff meetings as well as Ministry Council meetings and other leadership meetings when directed to do so by Sr. Minister and/or elders.
- Work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Expectations and Qualifications
- Confessing and baptized, mature follower of Jesus Christ.
- Received a call to children's and youth ministry.
- Will become a member of Elevate Christian Church.
- Participates in Elevate’s activities when appropriate and feasible to do so.
- Enter into a written agreement with the elders and will be bound by any job related requirements outlined in the church’s by-laws.
