About Waynesburg Christian Church
Waynesburg Christian Church is a traditional, Bible-believing congregation located in the rural community of Westport, Indiana. We are committed to the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Christ, and making disciples across every generation. We are a warm and close-knit church family seeking a faithful servant-leader to help shepherd our congregation and invest deeply in our youth.

Position Overview
We are seeking a gifted and Spirit-led individual to serve in a dual role as Associate Pastor and Youth Minister. This is a unique opportunity for someone called both to pastoral ministry and to the discipleship of the next generation. The person filling this role will preach from the pulpit, assist with pastoral care across the congregation, and provide hands-on leadership for our youth ministry — including teaching, mentorship, and participating in youth activities and events. We believe these two callings complement one another beautifully, and we are prayerfully seeking someone whose heart burns for both the Word of God and the young people He has entrusted to our care.

A Note on Ministry Couples
While this position is open to any qualified individual, Waynesburg Christian Church would warmly welcome a ministry couple who share a passion for serving together in this dual role. We recognize that a husband and wife team can bring a unique and complementary dynamic to both pastoral care and youth ministry — particularly in relating to families, leading mixed-gender youth activities, and modeling Christian marriage for our young people. This is not a requirement of the position, and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Pastoral & Preaching

  • Participate in staff and leadership meetings, contributing to the vision and planning of the church.
  • Represent the church in the broader community and support outreach and evangelism efforts.

Youth Ministry

  • Plan, prepare, and teach weekly youth group meetings and Bible studies rooted in Scripture.
  • Develop age-appropriate lessons and programming that challenge students to grow in their faith.
  • Organize and accompany youth on activities, service projects, retreats, and camps.

  • Experience working with youth in a church or ministry context.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
