OVERVIEW 
Greenford Christian Church is a non-denominational church with an average weekly attendance of around 2,500 people, located southwest of Youngstown, OH, dedicated to creating a strong spiritual community. We are actively seeking a dedicated individual for the full-time position of Boardman Campus Minister. This needs to be an exemplary candidate who is a passionate follower of Jesus, demonstrating strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a profound heart for shepherding, coupled with a clear vocational calling to lead the local church in fostering an engaging, Christ-centered community.

This key role requires close partnership with the lead minister, other campus ministers, and the wider ministry staff to cultivate authentic worship experiences and develop meaningful community outreach opportunities that truly embody the heart and mission of Greenford Christian Church.

LOCATION 
Boardman, Ohio, is located in Mahoning County and combines small-town charm with the energy of Youngstown, branching out further to Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Mahoning and Columbiana counties are known for their combined rural and suburban demographic, with communities offering highly rated schools, lush parks, scenic landscapes, and a bustling downtown filled with shops and restaurants. Residents in surrounding communities enjoy a wealth of recreational activities all within a safe, close-knit environment that balances a conservative standard of living with a strong sense of community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Campus Leadership - Volunteer recruitment and volunteer leader development in conjunction with other ministry staff for ministry departments on campus; Regular vision casting for all ministry departments; Keeping the Director of Building Maintenance & Safety informed of maintenance needs and concerns on the campus

Community Groups - Champion the discipleship process by working with the ministry staff to set goals for discipleship strategy and lead out in proper execution of Community Groups at the Campus level; Recruiting, equipping, training, and continually following up with group leaders/facilitators; Being personally involved in group/community life, championing Community Groups, Courses, and other such integrative community groups.

Champion local outreach - Connect with community leaders to find out the greatest need in the community and begin to meet a couple of those needs by organizing and executing a number of outreach events; Empower Community Groups to help meet the ongoing needs of the community.

Teaching, Preaching, Collaboration, & Culture - Work in unity with the Lead Minister and the Preaching Team in the development of sermon series; Teach weekly (40 times annually) on rotation between campuses; Weekly involvement in the service review/planning meeting; Participate actively in staff meetings, retreats, and church-wide events; Maintain a humble, teachable spirit and a collaborative attitude

Pastoral Presence - Serve as a spiritual leader within the church, not just on stage but behind the scenes; Be available for pastoral needs, including prayer, teaching, weddings, funerals, and hospital visits; Lead or participate in groups, studies, and other church-wide initiatives.

Personal Engagement - Be a faithful and active member of Greenford Christian Church, fully aligned with its Statement of Faith, mission, and values; Exemplify servant leadership and live out the GCC staff values: Faith, Integrity, Excellence, Humility, Generosity, and Joy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A spiritually mature, pastoral leader who loves the local church.
  • Experience building teams and executing strategies in a church setting
  • Strong communicator—on stage, in writing, and in personal relationships.
  • Must be flexible, hardworking, self-motivated, reliable, and fun
  • A team-builder with a heart for discipleship and leadership development.
  • An enthusiastic culture-shaper, bringing creativity, encouragement, and energy to the team.
  • Willing to be ordained or already ordained and committed to full alignment with GCC's leadership.
  • Applicants need to be USA Residents or have the status to legally work in the USA.
