Westview Christian Church is seeking to hire their next full-time minister. We are a stable and faithful congregation with a long history of unity, consistency, and commitment to ministry. Through seasons of change and challenge, the church has remained financially sound and spiritually strong, with a congregation deeply devoted to the work of Christ and to one another.
Over the past 25 years, Westview has been blessed with steady leadership and healthy transitions. Ministers have served long, fruitful tenures and maintained positive relationships with the congregation and its leaders. That spirit of mutual respect and cooperation continues to define Westview’s culture today.
Running in the twenties, we are blessed with well-maintained, debt-free facilities and a strong financial foundation that enables ministry without strain. Westview is also uniquely positioned as the only Christian Church (of our brotherhood) in the growing Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union County area—an expanding mission field offering abundant opportunities for outreach and impact.
The Greater Spartanburg area is one of the fastest-growing regions in South Carolina and the nation. By recent estimates, Spartanburg County leads the state in population growth, while the combined population of the tri-county area exceeds 460,000. Westview’s location—just outside the city limits—places it in a vibrant community poised for continued growth and development.
The Senior Minister provides:
- Spiritual leadership
- Fostering a healthy culture for growth through biblical teaching
- Disciple-making
- Worship oversight
- Compassionate pastoral care for all members.
This role involves:
- Building meaningful relationships
- Offering guidance
- Overseeing administrative duties, including equipping volunteers for ministry.
As a community leader, the minister is also responsible for directing ministry outreach efforts to strengthen the local church and engage the wider Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union county communities.
