Kids Minister

The Kids Minister exists to introduce kids to Jesus in a fun, interactive, engaging way, while helping them understand and grow in their faith. This position oversees all kids ministry (Birth-5th) and partners with parents & families to be the primary disciple-makers of their kids.

This role also sees the recruitment, encouragement, and training of volunteers. This position reports to the Executive Minister.

Ministry responsibilities include:

• Prioritize your health and relationship with Jesus Plan
• Organize, and implement key outreach events that are effective in reaching kids
• Oversee and organize kids classes (birth-5th grade) during weekly Sunday gatherings
• Oversee and organize Club45 (4th and 5th grade)
• Provide a warm, friendly, and safe environment for kids and families
• Attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings and periodic Leadership Team meetings
• Recruit the necessary teachers/leaders for Kids Ministry classes
• Train teachers/leaders to effectively disciple the kids
• Encourage, connect with, and pray for volunteers on a regular basis
• Insure that all adult background checks are current and up-to-date
• Propose and adhere to an approved annual budget for Kids Ministry
• Work collaboratively with other church staff members, elders and leadership team to integrate kids ministry into the broader church mission  
• Manage the overall health and safety policies in Kids Ministry including the registration and check in process 
• Use effective modes of communication designed to keep families engaged and informed of current curriculum, events, projects, and opportunities
• Cast the vision for a vibrant Kids Ministry that will allow kids to experience God in a relevant and relational way

• Kids and families feel welcome, known, and valued
• Events and ministries are reaching the community
• Parents are informed and equipped to be the primary disciple makers
• Kids are applying what they learn and are asking faith questions
• There’s laughter, joy, and engagement in every classroom
• Parents are having spiritual conversations at home with their kids
• Volunteers show up consistently and are excited to serve
• Kids are transitioned well into the life of the student ministry (6th-12th grade)
• The ministry is marked by transformation over information
