Organization Description:
This congregation was established in 1991 as an independent New Testament Christian Church and is relatively young as a congregation with people from very diverse backgrounds who come from several surrounding communities. Leadership consists of 6 active elders with 3 reserve elders, and function under a Ministry Team organization with 12 teams performing various functions of the congregation.
The church is located in a community just 20 miles west of Columbia MO on I-70. Boonville is city of around 8,500, and offers diversified employment opportunities with major companies. It also serves as the County Seat for Cooper County, which brings many service jobs to the area.
The current church building was completed in two phases in 2005 with an addition in 2013. We currently have no indebtedness. The church has experienced considerable growth in the last 5 years, and we have reached the capacity of our current facilities, so we are in the process of considering the next step to expanding our building. We currently have two worship services, and the congregation is made of a good balance of members from different age groups.
Position Description:
Job Description: Riverside Christian Church is seeking a full-time minister with the passion and skills for serving the Lord and carrying out the Great Commission. Duties will include preaching, teaching, visitation, community outreach, and other responsibilities as needed for a congregation with a weekly attendance of 250 people.
Personal Qualifications:
- Possesses personality, temperament, and interpersonal skills to relate and serve effectively within a multi-generational congregation setting.
- Exhibit evidence of Christian character and servant leadership as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4 in work environment as well as in home/family setting.
- Give evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, and financial stewardship).
- Doctrinally aligned with RCC's Statement of Faith, doctrinal positions, mission and core values.
- Give evidence of a strong work ethic and personal integrity.
Education & Skills:
- Engaging experienced teacher/presenter who can bring practical life application to the scriptures.
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to guide a seeker to become a baptized disciple of Jesus.
- Knowledge and ability to use the Bible to guide a new disciple to ongoing spiritual maturity.
- Bachelor's degree preferable from a Christian college or university aligned with "Restoration Movement Independent Christian Churches" with emphasis in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Discipleship, Education or Church Leadership.
