Children's Ministry Director

Purpose:

To serve the Children (Pre-K – 5th grade) of First Christian Church, Neoga (FCC) for the glory of God; build relationships with and disciple children and their families.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop a relational ministry with Pre-K – 5th grade students and their parents including Sunday mornings, potential midweek opportunities, and at least one quarterly event for children, parents, and/or families.
• Oversee ministry opportunities and curriculum for equipping parents as the primary disciple makers of their children.
• Coordinate an annual calendar and budget to facilitate family ministry needs: camps, conferences, outreach events, etc. Coordinate leadership and volunteers to carry out planned events, including personal participation.
• Work with the Preaching Minister and staff on “all church” special activities.
• Be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organized individual to serve alongside our staff and be a part of the team.
• Ensure the confidentiality within staff of personal information of volunteers, children, and their families.
• Responsibility of reporting all suspected child abuse or family violence.

• Maintain a growing devotional life including: Bible study and prayer.
• Build relationships with all church members, not only ‘families.’

• Grow in ministry through teaching, training, and equipping opportunities, such as conferences, workshops, and personal reading.

Additional Information:

• This is a full-time ministry position. Office hours are Monday-Thursday, 9am to 4pm. Though a strict adherence to the office hours is not required, office hours are expected as is a 40-hour work week encompassing all your ministry duties.
• This position is intended to primarily focus upon discipleship of Pre-K – 5th grade children and their parents.
• Salary package will be determined by qualification and experience of the applicant.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a Restoration Movement Bible college or be in the process of attaining one is preferred, but not required.
• Prior successful leadership in a church or other demonstrated leadership experience is preferred as well.
• Must be in agreement with the beliefs of the Christian Church (Independent).
• Must be an immersed believer in Jesus Christ.
• Must pass a criminal background check and have positive ministry and personal references.
• Must be a person of distinguished moral character and integrity. • Must have strong relationship and communication skills; a flexible, well-organized approach to work; and demonstrated personal traits of dependability, discretion, and compassion.
• Must be self-motivated and organized.
