Job Overview
The Program Director works with other CCCB and CCL personnel to oversee all phases of the design and delivery of programs and resources for church leaders who serve children and families, including particularly those with special needs. The Program Director also works closely with CCCB’s Ministry faculty to ensure that these family/disabilities ministry offerings complement Central’s for-credit programs. Because the Initiative is funded primarily by a Lily Endowment award, the Program Director works closely with other CCCB/CCLN staff to ensure full compliance with grant requirements.
Responsibilities – The Program Director will…
- Oversee the development and delivery of all programs and resources offered to churches in association with the Initiative.
- Serve as the primary liaison between participants and partner organizations, including Ability Ministry and The Solomon Foundation.
- Oversee any CCLN/CCCB staff members or contractors assigned to the Initiative.
- Ensure that all program objectives are consistent with the deliverables and commitments defined within the Lilly grant award.
- Develop and maintain a monitoring and evaluation structure that will enable the Initiative to demonstrate that all program objectives are met.
- Oversee the design and execution of a research and publication strategy related to factors that impact children’s faith formation, with emphasis on children with special needs or/and from special needs families.
- Work with Ability Ministry to ensure that churches and families participating in the Initiative have access to biblically-appropriate, special-needs-sensitive curriculum and resources that accomplish the goals of the grant.
- Oversee the development and delivery tools and processes for churches to assess their current children’s/disabilities programming.
- Oversee the development and delivery of training and certification programs with related curriculum and resources for church staff members and volunteers using cohort-based training and support.
- Develop and convene an Advisory Council who can assist in the development and promotion of all programs and resources associated with the Initiative.
- Provide direct consultation and coaching to churches participating in the Initiative, including direct facilitation of up to 5 cohorts annually.
- Design and implement a micro-grants program for eligible churches participating in the initiative.
- Oversee the design and development of a website and mobile app within Rock RMS that will be used to deliver curriculum, training, and resources to churches participating in the Initiative.
- Lead in the development and execution of strategies to enroll churches in the Initiative through marketing and communication strategies.
- Recruit, train, and oversee coaches who serve churches engaged in the programming.
- Develop and oversee annual budgets for all phases and activities of the Initiative as consistent with Lilly grant commitments.
- Assist college personnel in the development and execution of fundraising and grant writing strategies to support the Initiative.
- Communicate as needed with Lilly Endowment, including developing progress, program, and financial reports and attending webinars, meetings, workshops, and gatherings associated with the Initiative.
Preferred Credentials and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess all or most of the following credentials and skills.
- Association with the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement (Christian Churches/Churches of Christ) and affirmation of the CCCB Statement of Beliefs and also CCCB’s educational mission.
- At least a Master’s degree (preferably a Doctorate), in a field relating to work with children/families (e.g. Education or Christian Education, Counseling/Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Intervention, etc),
- Experience in the design or delivery of children’s and/or disabilities programming in the context of a local church.
- Experience in designing and delivering outcomes-based, data-driven programs.
- Experience in designing and delivering training/mentoring programs for paid professionals and/or volunteers.
- Experience working with church curriculum and related resources.
- Experience managing paid staff and volunteers.
- Experience developing and managing program budgets, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work with teams that include employees, contractors, and volunteers from multiple organizations.
- Ability to lead meetings.
- Strong communication and networking skills.
Special Requirements:
- Some travel is required, with the ability to work remotely as needed.
- Ability to use, or to learn to use, all CCCB/CCLN technology platforms.
- Evening/weekend hours as needed, including on-call support.
- Ability to redirect personal focus, activities, workflow, and procedures as a project evolves and to lead others in contexts of continuous change.
