Our vibrant church is seeking an individual who will be responsible for reaching out to, caring for, and teaching young adults from ages 15 to 30ish. The focus will be working with the senior minister in the development of young adults into the life and leadership of the church, and the candidate will also be expected to collaborate with the Creative Arts Minister in the teaching and discipleship of the youth.
We expect the candidate to have a growing, personal relationship with Christ, and a big heart for young adults. This individual should possess good communication and relationship skills that allow him to connect well with this current generation. It is essential that they be able to work as both a team player and leader and have efficient organizational skills. This is a full-time salaried position.
Purpose:
This position will serve to disciple primarily the youth and young adults (ages 15-30) of Jerome Christian; This position will plan and participate in Youth/Young Adult Ministries that reflect the core values and mission of Jerome Christian Church in coordination with senior minister, and Jerome staff to form and empower a team of volunteer leaders to minister to youth and families and young adults of Jerome Christian Church.

- Possess the ability to teach/model how Scripture informs our lives and how we live.
- Work collaboratively with the senior minister, Jerome staff, parents and volunteers, and with other leaders in the community.
- Exhibit effective organizational planning and timely follow-through.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to work well with church staff and volunteers.
- Seminary/Bible College education a plus
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a healthy balance of personal spiritual formation, self-care, and ministry
- Create and maintain a worshipful and safe environment for Christian discipleship and spiritual growth/education of the youth and young adults of Jerome Christian Church.
- Collaborate with the Creative Arts Minister to develop weekly youth meetings.
- Provide leadership and oversite for our youth and young adult volunteers.
- Provide leadership for, and participate in, young adult small groups.
- Facilitate/nurture leadership for young adult leadership teams.
- Collaborate with education team in choosing curriculum for youth and young adults.
- Develop a long-term discipleship plan that allows our youth to become fully integrated into the life and ministry of Jerome and/or become disciple makers in college or wherever the Lord leads them.
- Participate in service, outreach and evangelism in the broader community of Howard Co. and beyond, as time allows.
- Participate in youth and young adult annual mission trips (at least 1 a year).
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled by the senior minister.
- Attend annual staff retreat.
- Collaborate with Creative Arts Minister to provide leadership and direction for retreats, and other outside activities for youth and young adult events.
- Engage and assist parents in the spiritual care of their youth.
- Prepare and steward the youth ministry budget.
- Provide monthly reports for the senior minister and elder’s review.
- Provide a year-end summary for the church's Annual Report.
Schedule:
This position will require periodically working in the evening and occasional weekends. It will require working for the entirety of Sunday mornings. The schedule is flexible and will be organized around the ministry’s needs. Ministry
presence is required Christmas Eve and Easter. Office hours during the week are flexible but are to be approved by senior minister.
Hours and Compensation:
- Pay is very competitive (depending on experience)
- The position is a salaried minimum 40 hours a week position.
- Compensation includes two Sundays (with pay) of vacation (not to be taken at Christmas or during Easter.)

This position reports to the Senior Minister. The Young Adult Minster will meet regularly with the Senior Minister. A bi-annual review will be done with the Senior Minister.
