After more than ten years of service, Central's current Vice President of Student Development (VPSD) will move to become full-time faculty and Dean of Men in the summer of 2025. CCCB is now accepting applications for the next VPSD.

General Description

The VPSD reports directly to the President and is responsible for leading, managing, and supervising Student Development programs, responding to student needs, and fostering overall institutional development.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate the Student Development staff to help students develop spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Lead the College’s array of student programs for development and retention, including, but not limited to, student counseling, campus worship, new student orientation, advising, career planning and placement, activities, advocacy, special needs services, cultural activities, and other support services and programs.
  • Maintain Student Development policies, procedures, and practices that foster student life and support the College’s educational programs; recommend organizational structures, personnel, and resources to ensure a learner-centered environment at all levels.
  • Maintain and enforce the CCCB Student Handbook, which contains the student Code of Conduct, through hearings and disciplinary procedures as needed.
  • Oversee the College’s efforts to comply with regulations that provide a safe and secure campus environment.
  • Coordinate compliance with federal regulations, such as the American with Disabilities Act, Title IV, Title IX, and Section 504, by reporting on participation, violations, and interventions.
  • Prepare and monitor the Student Development portion of the annual budget.
  • Oversee residential life policies and personnel at the Moberly campus.
  • Coordinate with Executive Team members to ensure Student Development needs are being met in all departments.
  • Complete accreditation requirements related to Student Development, including assessment and reporting.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist international students in their cultural adjustments and report to administration and sponsoring missionaries when needed and as appropriate.
  • Teach courses as determined by the VP of Academics in the residential, graduate, or online program(s).
  • Participate as a member of the Executive Team.
  • Support the College’s activities and special events through attendance and participation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, supervisors, or other employees.

  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the College.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the management of personnel.
  • Ability to work with students and staff.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other professionals.

Education/Position Requirements

  • An earned master’s degree in ministry, theology, or higher education from an accredited college, seminary, or university is required (Doctorate degree preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience in student development, college ministry, or ministry leadership is preferred.
  • Ability to use computer software such as Microsoft Office, Student Information System software, Google Suite, etc.

Applications for VPSD will be accepted from internal and external candidates through October 31. Interested candidates should send a letter of introduction, a current academic and ministry resume with at least three references, and sermon links to [email protected]. All applicants will remain confidential until the finalists are presented to a hiring committee, the faculty, and a select group of CCCB students in late 2024.
