Middle School Minister

Forum Christian Church, a non-denominational church located in Columbia, MO, is prayerfully seeking to hire a Middle School Minister.

PURPOSE 
Lead Middle School students into a growing relationship with Christ by partnering with parents, equipping adult leaders, teaching God’s Word, and gathering with students and leaders around a table regularly.

SUMMARY 
Department: Student Ministry 
Direct Report: High School Minister 
Areas of Focus: Middle School Students (6th-8th grade) and Leaders

ROLE SPECIFICS 

Programming 

• Oversee all Middle School Life Groups on Wednesday nights during school year.
• Plan and execute weekly large group worship gatherings on Sunday mornings.
• Plan and execute Middle School events throughout the year, including Middle School Camp each summer
  

Leaders

• Recruiting, training, and leading volunteers
• Intentionally connect with each volunteer outside normal programming for spiritual and relational conversations
• Plan and execute quarterly Leader Gatherings to unify, equip, and encourage leaders 
• Provide resources and direction for large group and life group leaders
  

Students

• Develop discipleship plan for students, including Discipleship Groups in place
• Activate students to lead and serve within the ministry at Forum and in the community 
• Ensure transitions from Elementary and to High School ministries have clear on-ramps by working with Elementary Minister and High School Minister 
• Engage with students and families at extracurricular events
  

Administrative

• Communications with students, their families, and leaders (emails, texts, social media, etc.)
• Plan and manage a yearly budget 
• Connect with first time students and their families 
• Track ministry measurements (life groups, next steps, attendance, etc.) 

Staff Team

• Serve on NextGen team and special project teams alongside other staff members

Office hours: full time (specific hours vary)

Education requirements: Ministry degree preferred
