Music Director/Worship Ministry

Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church located in West Harrison Indiana.  Because this is a part time position, we are looking for someone residing in about a 30–45-minute radius of the church. This would include parts of Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana. The church will provide money for gas and expenses.

Ministry Description:

1. Shall have a testimony of how they came to know Christ and have a growing relationship with Him.
   
2. Must be an active member in good standing in a local church
3. Must share basic doctrinal position of the church regarding 
      a. The Bible as God’s Word 
      b. Salvation in Christ’s Sacrifice alone 
      c. The Physical Resurrection of Jesus from the dead 
      d. The Physical return of Jesus in the last days 
      e. Security of the believer
   
4. Must demonstrate both a gifting and a calling to serve in this ministry position
5. Must have a teachable spirit
6. Must be familiar and comfortable with a variety of music styles
7. Must be able to work with the Pastor and other musicians to plan both weekly congregational worship and special events
8. Encourage and provide opportunities for participation in the music ministry of the church
