Senior Minister

SUMMARY:

The Senior Minister of Ocala Christian Church must be a student of God’s word who boldly and compassionately preaches the good news of Jesus Christ. He is to offer spiritual guidance, administrate the staff, cast the vision for OCC and 
strive to create a warm and welcoming community of believers.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Plan the weekly worship service, coordinating with the Worship Leader and volunteers to provide an uplifting, doctrinally sound and positive worship service.
• Provide pastoral care to the congregation through compassionate counsel, spiritual direction, and prayer. Maintain pastoral care for illness, hospitalizations, and health needs.
• Teach and disciple through meaningful and doctrinally sound Bible studies, classes and messages that challenge, stretch, and affirm the believer while calling the lost. Deepen the faith of the learner by well researched and prepared messages.
• Represent the vibrant faith community of OCC to the community at large.  Participate in community events that lift-up Christ while sharing sound Biblical teaching.
• Administrate by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the church office and the entire church staff. Work closely with church staff and volunteers to ensure effective implementation of programs and events.
• Develop and build strong relationships within the congregation by actively connecting with members, listening to needs and supporting their personal and spiritual growth. Encourage a culture of love, acceptance, and respect within the faith community.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

1. Ordained as a Christian/Church of Christ minister from a Restoration Movement heritage.
2. Holds a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a Restoration Movement Bible College.
3. Has experience in church leadership, pastoral care, and preaching gained from serving in a Christian Church/Church of Christ congregation.
4. Maintains a high level of written and verbal communication skill. Has the ability to deliver engaging, biblically sound, and relatable sermons.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and abilities to connect with individuals of different ages and backgrounds.
6. Has strong evangelistic talents to communicate the gospel to the lost and share the plan of salvation on a personal level.
7. Can demonstrate leadership abilities, including experience in team management, administration, and organizational skills.
8. Adheres to a biblical code of ethical conduct and maintains a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
9. Possess a genuine passion for serving individuals from various backgrounds, fostering a vibrant faith community, and providing spiritual guidance. He should have a passion to save the lost and preach the gospel.
