Young Adults & Children Ministries

Purpose of Position:

To assist the ministry of God's Church by connecting young adults and children to Jesus and one another. This Christ-centered ministry will engage them to love; inspire them to grow and equip them to serve.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a fully integrated young adult ministry (18-35) that fits within the purposes and vision of the church. Responsibilities include discipleship training, evaluating life stage needs of this age range, community  outreach, promoting involvement in local service and foreign mission trips, planning activities to encourage fellowship and lasting friendships, leadership development and service in our church.
• Provide leadership for developing spiritual formation in children by coordinating educational teaching times (Sunday School & worship hours), recommending educational materials, enlisting and overseeing adult volunteers, creating opportunities for community outreach, creating a welcoming, loving environment for children and providing resources that encourage parents.

 Principal Organizational Relationships:

• Is under the general direction of the Pastor and Elders.
• Directs the selection, recruitment, and training of teachers.
• Selects a leadership team to help keep the ministry to children and young adults vibrant and growing.
• Consults with the Pastor and Elders for advice and assistance and renders advice to support them.
• Meets regularly for prayer, mutual support, and ministry coordination.

 Preparation, Experience, and Skills:

• Shall be a person of God whose life strives to achieve high standards of Christian character. Evidenced in their personal life, family relationships, and ministry. Their daily walk with God will be an example to the people with whom they interact.
• Should be a member of the Christian Church or Church of Christ (nondenominational).
• Should demonstrate an ability to be creative and have heartfelt concern for youth and adults.
• Must possess organizational and time management skills to carry out required tasks.
• Passionate and dedicated to winning people to Christ and nurturing them in Christ.
• Needs to recognize, accept, and promote the team concept of a unified ministry.
• Demonstrate a willingness to serve under the authority of others as well as being an authority for others.
• Demonstrate an ability to be financially accountable both in personal and church related accounts.
