Worship/Media Minister

Job Brief: Glendale Christian Church is looking for a committed disciple of Jesus Christ to serve as Worship/Media Minister. The Glendale Christian Church Worship/Media Minister will work closely with GCC pastoral staff in cultivating worship services and worship teams that help the GCC congregation to see and savor the greatness of the Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Fostering dynamic congregational worship by singing the best of the old and the best of the new is a key priority for GCC.

• Fully devoted follower of Jesus and committed to a Christ-centered lifestyle of discipleship. 
• Be a coachable team player by demonstrating desire for ministry improvement and being open to ways to improve ministry. 
• Shows and earns respect as a servant-leader and able to work harmoniously with staff, elders, volunteers, and members of the body of Christ. 
• Possesses effective communication skills (oral, written, electronic, and listening). 
• Possesses effective organizational skills (scheduling, contacting, coordinating volunteers). 
• Able to identify, recruit, equip, train and lead servant-volunteers to excel in ministry roles and responsibilities. 
• Be gifted in soliciting congregational worship. 
• Be a capable musician and singer. 
• Able to keep and maintain confidentiality. 
• Passionate about the church’s mission to transform lives by making disciples. 
• Thinks strategically and able to align use of time with ministry priorities. 
• Demonstrates energy and outstanding productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a member of the ministry team of Glendale Christian Church, demonstrating a commitment to the GCC congregation and its mission of discipleship.
• Communicate and collaborate regularly with other staff members, including participation in weekly staff meetings, and elders’ meetings as required.
• Model and solicit heartfelt congregational worship with an invitational approach that draws people in, encourages congregational participation, and points people to God. 
• Help plan weekly worship services by choosing hymns and songs that engage the congregation and support the preaching of God’s Word.
• Recruit, audition, teach, and train musicians within the church to serve the congregation as a team with musical skill and humility. 
• Coordinate and lead weekly rehearsals for Sunday morning services. 
• Work closely with the Tech Director to facilitate a dynamic and smooth worship experience. 
• Oversee maintenance of worship and media assets, including, but not limited to, musical instruments, stage equipment, and media related hardware. 
• Maintain a relationship with the music community in the greater Springfield area. 
• Oversee necessary copyright and licensing regulations, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Play active role in the creative arts side of ministry, including video and slide production, staging ideas, and social media posting. 
• Assist in digital and print media production, and coordinate volunteers in the media ministry. 
• Become a member of and join with the GCC congregation in fellowship and discipleship opportunities. 
• Other duties as assigned.
