Position Summary – The Pastor of Christ’s Church will be expected to:
1. Assist in maintaining a youth focused ministry in the Church.
2. Work with the body of Christ’s Church to develop each person’s area of ministries and service.
3. The primary contact for the body of the church and the community at large.
4. The primary pastoral contact for the needs of our sick and elderly and for meeting the visitors of the church.
5. Responsible for maintaining open communication lines between ministry and body needs and keep the leadership of the church informed.
6. Participate in the teaching/preaching ministry of the church under the guidance and direction of the church leadership.
7. (As a part of Christ’s Church), participant in the leaders’ meetings and will be responsible for specific areas of the church’s ministries and organization, based upon giftedness.
Job Duties
1. Maintain regular office hours at the church building. Post and announce office hours for the congregation.
2. Maintain a regular visitation schedule for each person of the body of Christ’s Church for their 1st year.
3. Be on-call for church emergencies, hospital calls, etc.; may need to carry a cell phone.
4. Participate in the ministries of the church and a part of the leadership group of the church.
5. Assume responsibility for areas of ministry where gifted.
6. Assume preaching and teaching duties as needed, at the request of the leadership.
7. Update the leadership group on a monthly basis of the past month’s activities.
8. Explore ways to share Christ in the community.
9. Support and build the ministry of Christ’s Church in accordance with its purpose statement.
Skills Required
1. Excellent understanding and knowledge of the Bible.
2. Evident giftedness as pastor and administrator.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Timely response to the needs of the leaders and congregation.
5. Detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
6. Good understanding of small town ministry needs and dynamics.
7. Computer literate – desired.
